Bridge Over Troubled Waters Awarded $1.6 Million Capital Grant

We are pleased to announce a multi-year commitment of $1,600,000 to Bridge Over Troubled Waters for renovations to the agency’s newly acquired 25 West Street building in Boston. The facility will provide stability for more young people by expanding access to emergency, transitional, and independent housing, with other supportive services.

Bridge is a national model and innovator for youth services, with over 55 years’ experience designing effective, comprehensive, and individualized programs. The agency provides a mix of short-term survival aid services focused on prevention and intervention and longer-term programs that develop skills for self-sufficiency and offer critical housing access and support.

Each year, Bridge helps guide about 2,400 young people aged 14-24 toward self-sufficiency, with effective services that help youth transform their lives and build fulfilling, meaningful futures.

The five-story mixed-use commercial building at 25 West Street is over 25,000 square feet and just steps from the agency’s headquarters at 47 West Street. It will help Bridge expand access to safe, stable housing for young people.

Once renovated, it will include 63 beds, helping the agency address the consistent waitlist for housing and connect young people with a broad range of supportive services. Renovations are expected to be completed in 2028.
