Foundation Receives Award from Association of Fundraising Professionals

We are pleased to announce that the Massachusetts Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) presented the Richard and Susan Smith Family Foundation with this year’s Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation Award at the AFP’s annual Massachusetts Gives event.

The award “honors a foundation that demonstrates outstanding commitment through financial support, innovation, and motivation of others” and is based on nominations from local development professionals, which makes it especially gratifying.

In presenting the award, Melissa Cording, AFP President and Director of Development at Bridge Over Troubled Waters called the Foundation’s grantmaking innovative and far-reaching. She singled out the Early College and TEAM UP for Children initiatives, among others, for praise. Executive Director Lynne Doblin accepted the award on behalf of the Foundation.
